Over 300 guests were dwarfed by the impressive stainless steel wine vats located in the state-of-the-art new red wine tank farm last week, as they enjoyed a Christmas libation courtesy of the family run winemakers Delicata. The Christmas wine reception took place at the Delicata winery on the waterfront in Marsa.

Visitors were offered a selection of D.O.K. and I.G.T. bottled wines to try as well as a taste of selected 2009 vintage wines directly from the temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The Directors and Management organised the event as a Christmas treat for some of its clients as well as taking the opportunity to show off its impressive new €2.1 million grape receiving and winemaking facility. The annual Delicata Christmas drinks are usually conducted in the winemakers 350 year old maturation cellars which house the company’s oak barrels. This year however, the more scientific side of wine making was showcased at the event. All of the more modern technically advanced computerised pieces of equipment were put on display for guests to inspect whilst enjoying a glass or two of Christmas cheer.
