Last week hundreds of Delicata clients and vignerons from Malta turned up at the company’s winery on Paola Waterfront for Christmas drinks. The annual event took place in Delicata’s state-of-the-art fermentation hall where a selection of the award winning winemakers D.O.K. and I.G.T. quality wines were made freely available for their guests to try. As well as loyal clients from Malta’s retail, hotel, restaurant and catering sectors a large number of the company’s many vine growers turned up for the event.

A spokesperson from Delicata said “This annual event of ours goes from strength to strength. Each year more and more of our clients attend and this year we had a full house and this is a big place to fill up. We estimate that some 450 people made the effort to attend and we are delighted. We were especially happy to see so many of our grape growers at the winery, these farmers play a fundamental role in our business and a close working relationship with them is essential. They grow quality grapes for us enabling us in return to make quality wines, so everyone’s a winner”.

Although a number of wines were available for clients to try, Delicata also took the opportunity to show off the recently announced 2011 Peoples Choice Award Winning Wines together with the wine maker’s most recent release the Grand Vin de Hauteville Moscato D.O.K. Malta Liqueur wine. Delicata’s 3 medal winners are, Gran Cavalier barrel matured Syrah which was voted best red wine of the year, Grand Vin de Hauteville Viognier voted best white wine of the year and finally Gellewza Rose Frizzante which was voted best rose wine of the year.
