DELICATA NO PRICE INCREASES
08.04.2009

Following a number of telephone calls, Mr. V. George Delicata has issued a statement from the company’s winery in Marsa stating that “Emmanuel Delicata has no intention of increasing the prices of any of its wines within the foreseeable future”. “This includes ALL of our wines, including both our D.O.K. and I.G.T. wine brands” he said.

He went on to say that the company had received a number of enquiries from both clients and wine consumers alike regarding price increases and he feels compelled to reassure Delicata wine drinkers and clients that there will be no wholesale price increases on Delicata wines.

“It is true that costs have risen substantially, but we believe that in the current economic environment it would be unfair to pass these costs on to our clients, who themselves might be going through tough times. At a time like this our clients need our support more than ever and the last thing they need from me is a price increase” he said.

“My family have been making and selling wines successfully for over one hundred years and it is my intention to ensure that it keeps doing so for another one hundred. We have been restructuring slowly over the last few years and now have lean but very efficient winemaking, sales and distribution systems, run by efficient people who are capable of making good business decisions. In actual fact, at a time when there is an economic downturn we are actually investing, as the building of our new €1.2 million red wine tank farm reaches completion within the next couple of months”.

“The results are there for everyone to see, or in this case to taste. The quality of our wines is improving all the time, as is our value. The competition from abroad is tough but I believe we have a good product at a good price and that is something I want to continue to provide for the Maltese community and the visitors to our island”.
