Delicata’s Victoria Heights range of four D.O.K. Gozo wines will be showcased tomorrow evening (5th) at Independence square in Victoria, as part of ‘Tipiku’, an event organised by The Ministry for Gozo to promote Gozitan Craftsmanship & Gastronomy.

A full day’s activities has been planned and it will all take place under a large marquee which will be erected at it-Tokk square, making it possible for the programme to proceed as planned in the event of inclement weather.

The first half of the ‘Tipiku’ experience is a crafts event starting at 9 o’clock in the morning and continuing until 2 o’clock in the afternoon. This activity will aim to showcase a unique range of arts, crafts and local food delicacies produced by Gozitan craftsmen and artists. To entertain people, whilst they browse through the very best Gozitan craftsmanship available, the Sinnet folk group will be performing a live folk and dance music show.

The second of the day’s activities is a gastronomic showcase which kicks off at 6.30 in the evening and goes on until 10.30pm. The organizers are eager to create an ambiance where visitors will be enticed to taste and savour the very best authentic Gozitan food and wines and thereby create an atmosphere where people will be able to relax and dine if they so wish. A number of stalls will be operated by Gozitan catering establishments each offering a variety of local cuisine. As for the wines, only genuine Gozo wines produced from 100% Gozo grown grapes are permitted at the event. On the Delicata stand representatives from the company will be in attendance to answer any questions about their wines, but in particular their well established, popular, 10 year old Gozitan wine brand, Victoria Heights. The four wines available at ‘Tipiku’ will be the Victoria Heights Chardonnay, Rose Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc blend, all produced from hand picked grapes grown in selected family run vineyards. All 4 Delicata D.O.K. wines will be available at a nominal price per glass, but no wine will be sold or served to any person under 17 years of age.

To help the food and wine go down an evening of traditional, classical and popular music has been organized throughout the evening up until midnight. Some of the evenings entertainment that has been laid on to help visitors relax will be provided by local artistes such as Ta' Verna Folk Music, Cordia String Quartet and The Tramps.
