At an International Wine Competition held in the Czech Republic recently, Delicata’s 2007 Medina Syrah Carignan Grenache D.O.K. Malta was ranked 8th in a tasting of over 200 wines. The wine which was entered by Delicata’s Czech importer, unbeknown to them, was one of 234 wines sampled from 19 countries. For the main prize the wines were simply categorised according to quality, red and white wines appeared side by side from a number of grape varieties. The wines were then ranked according to the judges preferences and it is in this list that the Medina Syrah Carignan Grenache was ranked eighth.
