A charity event in support of Action for Breast Cancer gets underway tomorrow night under the patronage of Malta’s fastest selling Rose wine – Dolcino. The event is a tri partite initiative by Emmanuel Delicata, Pink magazine and The Black Pearl restaurant.
This ‘Pink Party @ the Pearl’ has been organized in close collaboration with the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation and all funds raised will go towards the group which has helped fund new equipment and prosthesis’s for cancer patients for the last 3 years. All monies collected from the event will go to the foundation to fulfill its mandate to provide a €750 – new biopsy gun, €13,500 – new specific x-ray machine at Mater Dei hospital and €45/patient as part of the new project to provide leisure prosthesis’s for member patients.
The party, which is by invitation only, kicks off on Saturday night at 8.00pm at the Black Pearl restaurant, which is permanently berthed at Ta’xbiex Marina, where guests will be met with chilled glasses of Dolcino before boarding. Once on board the party will get underway with free flowing Dolcino, delicious finger foods and music. During the evening, which goes on until late, a raffle will take place which offers up some great prizes, including some fantastic paintings, complimentary meals at The Black Pearl, mixed cases of ‘pink’wine, a double magnum (3 litre) of Gran Cavalier Syrah, Delicata Wine Festival invites. The local artists who have kindly donated paintings which will help raise funds for Action for Breast Cancer are Debbie Caruana Dingli, Christine X and Mike Le Makoo. Guests are being asked to arrive dressed with just a ‘hint of pink’ in keeping with the theme of the evening.
Upstairs, the Black Pearls main restaurant will be open as usual for any Pink party revelers who would like to round off the evening with a good meal and more wine! |
