DELICATA RECEIVE 2011 VINTAGE Q.W.P.S.R. APPROVAL
20.01.2012

All of the white and rose Q.W.P.S.R. (quality wine produced in a specific region) wines submitted by Delicata for I.G.T and D.O.K classification from the 2011 vintage have been given approval.

The wines which have to go through a number of analytical tests both here in Malta and overseas in Italy, also have to be approved by an Italian tasting panel in Siena. The white and rose D.O.K wines and the I.G.T wines are always the first to be submitted. Hopefully the red D.O.K wines will be given approval by the end of January. Now that approval has been received, labelling can proceed and the wines can be bottled and released onto the market.

This is I am sure good news for lovers of Delicata’s Sauvignon Blanc wines which have been sold out since October last year. Delicata’s two IGT ranges Pjazza Regina and Maltese Falcon consisting of 6 wines have all been classified as well as 6 D.O.K Malta wines from the Medina range, 2 D.O.K Gozo Victoria Heights wines and 3 D.O.K wines from the two premium wine brands Grand Vin de Hauteville and Gran Cavalier.

The only remaining Delicata wines awaiting Q.W.P.S.R. approval, which have yet to be tasted, are the winemakers red D.O.K. wines from Malta and Gozo and wines that will need to spend a length of time in barrel to mature.
