At a recent event hosted by the Shaukiwan restaurant in Xemxija, over two hundred people attended to celebrate both the restaurants 20th anniversary and twenty years of a successful trading partnership, with Emmanuel Delicata, who has been supplying the restaurant with its quality wines since it opened in 1990.
At the ‘Oriental Party’, which was a great success, representatives from Emmanuel Delicata presented the owners with a framed ‘Platinum distinction’ certificate, as part of the company’s customer loyalty scheme, together with a 3 litre double magnum of D.O.K. Syrah wine personalised with an exclusive label.
Guests included loyal customers, businessmen, friends, politicians, members of the press, representatives from Delicata and a few local celebrities. Throughout the evening a never-ending stream of oriental finger food was always on hand with glasses of free flowing Maltese Falcon red, white and rose I.G.T. quality wines close by. Towards the end of the evening a celebratory cake was also ceremoniously cut by Mr. Mario Delicata and Mr. Frankie Vella, to round off the evening’s activity.
Shaukiwan is a good value Chinese restaurant that has gained a large number of loyal clientele and gained a well earned reputation for its consistency in providing good quality Chinese food at good value for money prices. The restaurant actually moved a couple of doors up to its existing premises just a few years ago. This opportunity gave Shaukiwan a chance to completely redecorate the interior of the restaurant with traditional oriental features and introduce a large open-window kitchen whereby a viewing of the Chefs at work can be seen by the customers. The menu includes all the favourite Chinese dishes of soups, chicken, pork, beef, duck, spare ribs, sizzling varieties, seafood, rice and noodles. In addition, Shaukiwan has its own specialty dishes such as the Beijing king prawns in a tomato and garlic sauce or the Steamed spare-ribs in hoi-sin sauce. They also serve a great value buffet on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for lunch and dinner which is complemented by an a la-carte menu and good set-menu options. The Shaukiwan restaurant also offers a take-away service, caters for larger groups, is family friendly and has a free car park close by. |
