VOTING OPEN TILL 12^TH SEPTEMBER

At this year's Delicata Classic Wine Festival, visitors are being invited to participate in a new Delicata initiative – The Peoples Choice Wine Awards. The wine festival which is celebrating its 10^th year in Malta and 9^th year in Gozo, attracts around 35,000 wine enthusiasts annually and this year for the very first time, visitors will be able to vote for their favourite Delicata wine by sending a simple text message identifying their preferred wine of choice.

Wine lovers will have the opportunity to win cases of quality D.O.K. and I.G.T wine by participating in this wine competition and they can vote for as many wines as they like. At the end of September after the two wine festivals are over, Delicata will be announcing the results of ‘The 2011 Peoples Choice’ by identifying the winning Red, White and Rose wines that received the most votes.

There are 23 wines to vote for at the festivals, all available to taste once a glass has been purchased, they include 10 whites, 6 roses and 7 reds. All tasters need do is SMS 50613906 then text the given code (ie. ABCD) of the particular wine they are voting for. A complete list of all the wines and their respective codes will be displayed on each of the nine wine stands, at the festivals wine shop and at the festivals information desk just inside the entrance.

Voting can take place up until 12^th September 2011. The SMS rate is at € 0.23c and it is only open to adults over 17 years of age.
