TECHNICAL MANAGER – full-time

Reporting to the Directors, these are some of the duties of the Technical Manager:

In conjunction with the Bottling Team Leaders and the Warehousing Manager, the Technical Manager will ensure that all wines are bottled, packed and stored according to the Company’s strict high-quality standards.

The chosen candidate will also be responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations in the plant and production facilities of the winery. S/he will lead and motivate the Maintenance and Engineering Department in the day-to-day operations and also liaise directly with the other department heads of the company. S/he will also be the point of contact with all Government and Regulatory Agencies as and when required. The Technical Manager will also be responsible for managing waste separation and disposal, health & safety, housekeeping and pest control.

In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to develop work plans, procedures and schedules for the department and also maintain equipment, plant facilities, installations and buildings in the best condition through effective preventive maintenance according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The role will also involve the planning and execution of engineering projects and project management of new capital investments.

Applicants are expected to :
• possess a university degree in Electrical Engineering and an engineering warrant;
• have 3 or more years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
• have a proven track record in driving employee engagement and development to maximise efficiency and meet deadlines
• be knowledgeable with modern trends and applications in the field of engineering
