Wine and seafood lovers are in for a rare culinary treat this July as Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker teams up with the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa and Azzopardi Fisheries for a spectacular collaborative event: Shuck, Sip & Savour!
Set against the stunning backdrop of Balluta Bay, this unique evening takes place on Wednesday, 8th July at 7:30 pm on the elegant Atrio Terrace at the Malta Marriott.
Oyster connoisseurs are in for an extraordinary experience, with a selection of top-premium oysters renowned for their prime placement in Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
This exclusive gathering also offers a unique opportunity to taste Delicata’s highly limited Eskwiżit range of boutique wines. These hard-to-find Maltese gems of sparkling wines will be expertly paired with the spectacular array of oysters.
Guests will embark on a curated tasting journey featuring top-tier varieties from Ireland, France and Italy. The evening kicks off with a luxurious welcome of Irish Special Sentinelle oysters with caviar, paired perfectly with the crisp, vibrant Eskwiżit Girgentina Spumante Brut.
As the night unfolds, diners will explore a vast range of oyster terroirs and preparations. The menu transitions from raw, pristine selections like the Ostra Regal Selection Or with shallot mignonette to warm creations. Highlights include a classic Oyster Rockefeller paired with the award-winning Gran Cavalier Chardonnay Riżerva, a rich, bone-marrow-infused chargrilled variation, and a decadent Surf & Turf finale combining France’s Royale “David Herve” oyster with beef tartare, served alongside the rare Eskwiżit Ġellewża Spumante Demi-Sec. The experience concludes with a crispy Oyster Tempura, unexpectedly matched with the red Medina Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre.
